33-34… Lose… We had been preparing for this game the whole year, and we had an undefeated season, with close games, but we always came out on top, till now. We lost by one point. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I tried my best, and still we failed. I felt like everything I had worked for was for nothing, I felt like all I did was meaningless. A lucky basket, all it took, and just like that, we lost our undefeated season. As the game ended and I looked at the scoreboard, I couldn’t help but crying. I could feel the tears run down my cheeks as my vision blurred, I thought it was a dream, but the scoreboard stayed as it was… I thought that if I looked at the score long enough it would change, it didn’t. We tried our best, and we deserved this win. It kind of reminds me of when the Giants beat the Patriots, the wild card beat the undefeated team… I never thought that we would lose, I had been looking forward to this moment, and now that its here, I just wish I could make the clock go back and that I woulda hit my free throws. Or that I woulda hit those jumpshots, but I guess it was just bad luck. Both of the jumpshots I missed rolled off of the rim, and one of the freethrows was going in and it rolled to the side. All it woulda taken was one of those free throws to have gone in, and it woulda been a totally different story. I woulda been writing about how we won and how hard we worked. But I guess its just bad luck. I woulda been writing about how the tears of joy ran down my cheeks, and not sorrow. But, with this season ending, next season will soon begin.

So, finally the year is almost over, but with that, so is this great basketball season. The finals are coming up this wednesday, the twenty eigth, and it has been a long season. We have gotten to the finals undefeated and we played many different teams. We played MBS, Lincoln, Blue Valley, AIS, Humboldt, Calasanz, and others I dont remember. Well, our score right now if i’m not mistaken is 7 or 8-0, and all the other teams have atleast two losses, against us, MBS, or Humboldt. Humboldt lost against us and MBS, and MBS against Humboldt and us. But since MBS beat Humboldt in the semi-finals we are going to play them. The first game we played against MBS the final score was 32-29, us, but I think this time we will beat them by more points, because we have gotten better during the season. One of the things that hinder us though, is that MBS and most other teams have practice EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE WEEK, while we only have practice two days a week, which I find really unfair. Nonetheless, I expect it to be a great game so come out and cheer for the Middle School team! It’ll be a great game, no doubt. Go Panthers! So comeout and give support, you wont be dissapointed by this great game.

This has been a long week, and I do not know what I can write about for this edublogs post, and another thing, our required posts have now been buffed up to three hundred words per entry a week, so I’m going to have a hard time getting to the requirement while saying something interesting. I think I don’t know what to write about because we haven’t been doing much in school lately, and I haven’t done anything interesting either, but, I have to write this three hundred word post so I might as well try to write three hundred words. I feel overwhelmed by the amount of homework we get in school so I can barely find any time to do anything that is personal stuff like the basketball team or chatting with my friends, going out, I haven’t gone to the movie theater in atleast three or four weeks which must be a record for me since I like to watch movies a lot. I think that this is the hardest post so far because since we are so far into the year and we have been using edublogs for quite a while now, people, or atleast me for that matter, have been running out of ideas on what to write about so after each post, everything keeps getting harder and harder, until you reach a point where you run out of ideas, or like what I did, I had to totally remake my blog which was about streetball into a blog about everything. Although I still think that edublogs was an interesting experience and a different one too because we hadn’t ever done something similar, and I have to say, I kind of like it, mostly reading other peoples blogs than writing my own though. Well that’s three hundred words, and my post of the week, so good luck people, have a nice day.

Festival Imperial. One of the biggest events hosted in Costa Rica, by the beer-brewing company, Imperial. The first year they hosted this event it wasn’t as popular, it was more of a publicity stunt, but with so much advertising, you can hardly say no money was made. The event was featuring bands like Cafe Tacvba, Incubus, and Smashing Pumpkins, among others. The event started with a local singer doing cover songs, and ended with Smashing Pumpkins, I left right before they started so I wouldn’t be caught in the 5,000 car traffic jam. For me, it was a great experience, I was about ten feet from the stage when Incubus was playing and they had a great performance. The energy in the air was overwhelming and you could hardly breathe as you were inside the huge crowd of people singing along to the lyrics. The best song that they played I think was, “Are You In”, not because the song is good, but just because everyone was singing along and most of the people knew the lyrics. It also had a great ring to it with all the echo of all the people singing. One of the best concerts that have been hosted in Costa Rica. For all of you that missed it, you missed a great opportunity to have a great time and just hang-out with your friends. It was a great concert, and everyone had a great time, if you were smart and left thirty minutes - an hour earlier you didn’t get caught in any traffic. Another great song that they played was “Wish You Were Here”, again, it was also a very known song and you could feel the energy in the air and see everyone jumping up and down from the excitement and euphoria.

Another great movie by Marvel. If you haven’t seen it, go out and watch it. So the plot begins as the owner of a major weapon company called Tony Stark is introducing a new missile to the United States army, this missile is called the Jericho. After demonstrating this missile, he then is kidnapped by a group of terrorists called the ten rings. (Spoiler highlight if you want to read.) He then is requested to build the Jericho for the terrorists, at first, he refuses but then, he chooses to do as he was told and build it, although he has a different plan in mind. With the resources he is given and his genius mind he builds a suit which is powered by a source of energy he built himself, this suit is bullet-proof and has flamethrowers on it and a flying ability. With this, he is allowed to escape from the terrorists that were holding him captive and saves himself. After seeing that the terrorists used all of the weapons he had invented, he tries to change the company around by making a public statement to the press saying that Stark Industries is no longer a weapon manufacturer. His partner in the board of directors is indignated by this statement and continues to produce weapons secretly, and at the same time, to supply the terrorists that attacked Stark in the first place with weapons. Stark then upgrades his old Iron Man suit into the Iron Man we now know, the red and yellow one. This one is an upgraded version which he then uses to destroy the weapons that were given to the terrorists, and kill the terrorists themselves too. He then is wounded by an attempt assasination but when he recovers, uses his iron man suit to look for his enemy which was his partner. He finds that he had also built an Iron Man of his own which was bigger and more resistant, but it still had some flaws. He then fights the Iron Man, defeats him, and then SHIELD makes up a story for Stark to tell, but he is honest with the press, and says. Yes, I am Iron Man! After watching this great movie, I recommend everyone that hasn’t seen it watches it, and if you have seen it, watch it again. This performance by marvel greatly surpasses all of its other movies, which have also been good.

So, this week, after a couple minutes of thinking about it, I decided to change my blog. I still love basketball but I think that it is time to change it and let my blog evolve into a more complex blog, broader. So, I was listening to music on my Ipod one of these days and I think, hey I havn’t listened to this song in a while. The song was “Where is My Mind” by The Pixies. As I start listening to the song I remembered it was the theme song to the extraordinary classic Fight Club, 1999, starring Brad Pitt and Ed Norton. This movie is the best movie of all times, in the beginning of the movie, there is no clear conflict, but as the movie progresses, a mayor conflict is noticeable. I wont say it so I dont give it away, but this total twist to the movie is what makes it so great. The movie itself is a whole masterpiece, as every small little detail in the beginning of the movie start to make sense and start to web a whole new plot that you would not have realized existed without passing through this part of the movie. This little web is followed throughout the whole movie and not only that, all the things that happened made sense, but now, all of a sudden, it all changes. The things make sense, just differently. The whole hour that you have been watching is all being examined under a new light by your brain because you realize that now that you see what is really what, you start to think, hey that makes sense, no wonder that guy did that, no wonder he thought the way he did. Its a pretty crazy movie, and a great one too, I recommend everyone who wants to see one of the best movies ever made, watch this movie.

Now that the playoffs began, everyones excited to see whos going to go on and whos going to be eliminated. For me, the dream finals for the playoffs would be, the Cleveland Cavaliers v.s. the Los Angeles Lakers. I think that this would be a great game because we would be able to see both of the greatest players AND candidates for MVP play against eachother, Lebron James, and Kobe Bryant. If these finals were to happen it would be a really close game, Lebron would get a double-double there with points and rebounds and Kobe would try to use his abilities to attempt another eighty one pointer game. In the end, the winning team i’d probably have to say would be the Lakers. I would think that the Lakers would win because of Pau Gasol playing as center with asists from their point guard Derek Fisher, not to mention Kobe shooting three pointers and making atleast five. It’d be a pretty close game though, with the Cavaliers short-forward averaging thirty point zero points PER GAME, while the short forward point average is barely a nine point eight points per game. After a close game, the Lakers would probably beat the Cavaliers for around six, ten points maximum.

This has been the question in many people’s minds with a crowd split pretty evenly between Kobe and Lebron. But, who is better? I guess its all about opinnion but, Lebron James for the win. But first a little bit of background knowledge, King James, he was the first draft of 2003 joining the Cleveland Cavaliers with a contract of $100 million. Kobe Bryant, he joined the NBA in the 1996 draft, that is 7 years more than Lebron of experience, #THIRTEEN DRAFT NOT FIRST, was drafted into the Hornets, but shortly after was traded to the Lakers. Don’t take me wrong, I am a HUGE fan of Kobe too, I just think Bron is better. Yeah, true, he did make 81 points in that one game against the Raptors, but Bron made 56 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. While Kobe only had 2 assists. Yeah Kobe can ball-hog cause hes AWESOME, but im just saying Kobe makes his team look good because hes good, Lebron makes his whole team play, and makes his whole team look good by helping them out and boosting them up. They are both great players, but think about it this way too, when Bron is as old as Kobe (29) he’ll definetly be on THE TOP.
If you want to argue with it, argue, but lets face it, Bron is on the top, Kobe’s great too though.

Yeah, its him. You know you dont want it to be him, but it is. Kobe Bryant, the man, the legend, the shooting guard. With 29 years old, Kobe Bryant has the record for scoring most three pointers during a game which is twelve, but not only that, he is the youngest player ever to have scored twenty thousand points on total. Measuring Six feet with Six inches, which is 1.98 meters, he is the greatest shooting guard to have ever lived. His amazing drives and his ability to find spots, drive in the lane, and find an open spot to shoot from is unmatchable. He isn’t just good at shooting, he has one of the best cross-overs along with Dwayne Wade and other players, and has great dunks. His faded jump three pointers are world wide and unchallanged.
He can shoot better than any other player in the history of the NBA. At the age of only twenty nine he still has atleast 2 more years in the NBA, and single-handedly has led his team of the Lakers to many victories. He has been ten time NBA Allstar, and Dunk Champion of 1997, among others. In his early days, he wasnt regarded as a great defense, but over time, experience and training has made him one of the best defenders too.
